Why me?

This is the weird part. I have to toot my own horn and I’m doing it in the openness of the web as opposed to a private application. Here goes:

Why would I make a GREAT intern for Seth Godin?

I love ideas.

I love good ideas and studying the people who create them.

I love implementing ideas.

I’m totally focused on getting things done. Ideas are fun but doing is much sweeter.

I work hard.

I’ve chosen to make a run at success and I’m working my tail off to get there.

My ideas have spread.

I’ve had some great success with many of the marketing campaigns I’ve worked on (but of course just as many or more have failed).

I don’t let school get in the way of my education.

College is great but I’m molding my future outside the classroom not inside (cliché but true). Connections, persistence, and ideas will take me a lot further than that coveted paper with a 4.0.

I’m not afraid to think big.

Most of the time, there’s very little that separates great ideas from mediocre ones. I’ve learned to focus on the big goals so falling short might still be a great success.

Here’s a few references.

Brandon….a Hungry Fool. In Steve Job’s commencement speech, he ended it with a phrase he saw in a magazine that he always admired and one that he encourages others to live by - “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” I have encountered few individuals in my time that are as motivated as Brandon and follow through by taking initiative to continually try new ideas. He is foolish enough to think no goal is too big, and hungry enough to make that belief true.

Brant Bukowsky is the founder of two very successful firms centered around search marketing, a ticket brokerage and a mortgage company.

Brandon is the type of kid that stands head and shoulders above the crowd, and I think he’d be a great fit for the summer internship opportunity. I’ve employed no less than 30 college students and part-time workers in assisting our search marketing projects over the past 5 years. From Day 1, Brandon has excelled at creating new ideas and creating results with our marketing campaigns that go beyond what I could ever ask for. When I think about the type of person that I would want to partner with in business – he fits the mold. Energetic, inventive and the desire to do ‘big’ things. And when I think about the fact that he’s only 19 years old, I have to take a step back. I wish I had the knowledge base and business aptitude he possesses at such young age.
