Brandon - I commend your efforts. I am sure a lot of people are just sending in a resume and hoping that will work.
But, if you REALLY want this to work, I think you need to do more. The key to getting Seth’s attention is to build something remarkable. Is this website remarkable? In the past 15 days I think all you ahve done is put up a simple about me page and posted about people donating prizes. Let’s turn this website/blog into something remarkable. Let’s share more with Seth about why you really would be a great intern.
One idea… pick a bunch of companies or products you find interesting and think about some new ways to market thier products. Post 3-5 ideas for one company per day. The application deadline is April 2… coming soon!
OK, now for your first assignment (if you choose to accept it). Take a look at our company website (www.HubSpot.com) and then write a post on your blog about great 5 ideas on how to market our company. Thanks for the great input! I totally agree that this site in and of itself is nothing remarkable. It’s funny that you mention profiling companies and saying what I admire and/or what I’d do differently. In my rough application I had started doing something similar but for some reason I didn’t feel that I should put it up online (kind of stupid in retrospect!).
I will definitely take your assignment. I’ll be writing that in the next few hours hopefully and will let you know what I have up.
